August Accoe was born to Eduard Francies and Philomena (Willems) Accoe in Sint-Laureins on August 19, 1863.  He married Mathilde Standeart on November 8, 1888.  Announcement of their golden wedding celebration and a mass of thanksgiving appeared in The Faithful, a Maldeghem newspaper, on November 6, 1938.  August died on June 15, 1950.
 
Mathilde Standeart - wife of August Accoe
Mathilde Standeart was born March 26, 1858 in Beernem.  She married August Accoe on November 8, 1888 and they had twelve children, seven of which were still alive at the time of their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  Mathilde died on November 10, 1945.

Julius Accoe was born to August and Mathilde (Standeart) Accoe in Belgium on February 16, 1890.  He died on September 29, 1973.
 
Helena De Smet - wife of Julius Accoe
Helena De Smet was born on September 16, 1894 and married Julius Accoe.  She died on September 22, 1974.

Julma "Zulma" Accoe was born to August and Mathilde (Standeart) Accoe in Belgium in 1891.  She married Emiel Martens and they raised two daughters and two sons.  Julma died on Sunday morning, May 31, 1970 in Auburn Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at Scott and Mann Funeral Directors in Fort Byron.  A Mass of Requiem was held in succession at St. John's Church.  Burial was in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fleming, New York.
 
Emiel Martens - husband of Julma "Zulma" Accoe
Emiel Martens was born September 17, 1889 in Belgium and married Julma "Zulma" Accoe.  He and Julma immigrated to the United States in 1914, settling in Marion, Wayne County, New York.

Emiel became a prominent muckland farmer in central New York, supplying and shipping fresh produce to the New York City area, among others.  That business is still owned and run by the family today.  Emiel moved his family to the Port Byron area in March of 1926.  He was a member of the Cayuga County Farm Bureau.  He also served as director of the county soil conservation district and as president of the Port Byron central school board.  During World War II, Emiel was president of the Cayuga County Processors and Growers Corporation.  In addition to his extensive farming activities, Emiel owned the Emiel Martens & Inc., car and truck sales and service agency in Port Byron.

A man of astute business ability, Emiel Martens was also one liked and respected by all who enjoyed his friendship.  He was never heard to speak ill of any person and he was always ready to help those in need.

Emiel died in Auburn City Hospital on Monday, February 5, 1951 after a short illness.  Funeral services were conducted at the family home in Rochester on Friday and from St. John's Church, where Emiel was a member and communicant.  The Rev. John Guy officiated the services.  Burial followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Auburn, New York.  Active pallbeares were Andrew Schuler, George Michaels, Howard Donk, Joseph Cimpi, James Lopes and George Colvin.  Honorary bearers included John Fabian, Claude Brown, Guy Parsons, Warren Upton and Theodore Cerwin.

Magdelena/Madeline Accoe was born to August and Mathilde (Standeart) Accoe in Belgium on January 29, 1895.  She married Achiel Verniere and they had a son.  Madeline died in 1974.
