Elizabeth McClain was born to Jacob and Catherine (Lacefield) McClain in Kentucky on March 10, 1822.  She married John B. Rubush.  Elizabeth died on January 17, 1892 and was buried in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburg, Indiana. [1]

John B. Rubush was born in West Virginia on November 17, 1823.  He married Elizabeth McClain in Indiana.  John died on July 4, 1902 and was buried in Rest Haven Cemetery. [2]

Lucinda E. Hendrickson was born on August 15, 1840 in Kentucky.  She married Lyman S. Rubush and they had three sons and a daughter.  Lucinda died on July 4, 1902 and was buried in Rest Haven Cemetery. [4]

Isabel Rubush was born to John and Elizabeth (McClain) Rubush in Indiana on September 29, 1844.  She appears with her family in the 1850 census with the name Susan, living in Marion County, Indiana.  Isabelle married John Wells in Indiana in 1865.  She appears in the 1900 census with her father and two daughters using the Rubush surname.  No other information concerning Isabel Rubush has been located at this time. William Fletcher Rubush was born to John and Elizabeth (McClain) Rubush in Indiana on October 18, 1848.  He married Margaret Shoemaker.  William Fletcher Rubush died on April 4, 1889. [7]

Margaret Shoemaker was born in 1849 in Germany.  She married William Fletcher Rubush in 1867 and they had six children.  Margaret died in 1833 and was buried in Rest Haven Cemetery. [8]

Sarah Rubush was born to John and Elizabeth (McClain) Rubush in Indiana around 1851.  She married William S. Hood and they had two sons and a daughter.  Sarah died in 1828. [9]

Melissa Elizabeth Rubush was born to John and Elizabeth (McClain) Rubush in Indiana in 1855.  She married Franklin Pierce Joyce and they had two sons.  Melissa died in 1887 and was buried in Acton Cemetery. [11]
 
Franklin Pierce Joyce - husband of Melissa Rubush
Franklin Pierce Joyce married Melissa Rubush in Marion County, Indiana on August 10, 1876.  After Melissa died in 1887, Franklin married Mary A. VanHorn.  Franklin was a farmer, tilling soil in Shelby and southeast Marion counties.  He died on March 20, 1921 and was buried in Acton Cemetery in Indianapolis. [12]

John T. Rubush was born to John and Elizabeth (McClain) Rubush around 1859.  He married Sarah Ella Davis in 1879.  John was listed as a farmer in Blue River Township, Johnson county in the 1880 census.  He is listed as the father of Ralph, and twins, Clara and Clarice Rubush in historical Johnson County birth records.  No other confirmed information concerning John T. Rubush has been located. [13]
 
Sarah Ella Davis - wife of John T. Rubush
Sarah Ella Davis was born to James and Hariet (Craig) Davis in April of 1861.  She married John T. Rubush in 1879.  Together they had a son and twin daughters.  Ella married John H. Dessler in 1895.  She and her daughters appear in the 1900 census with John Dessler living in Indianapolis.  Ella married John A. Brandenburger in 1907.  Sarah Ella Brandenburger died on Monday, December 6, 1937 in Shelbyville, Indiana.  She lived most of her life in Indianapolis, moving to Shelbyville shortly before her death.  Funeral services were held on Thursday in the Ragsdale & Price Funeral Home.  Burial followed in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Ellen Rubush was born to John and Elizabeth (McClain) Rubush in Indiana in 1865.  Ellen died before 1888 per "History of Johnson County, Indiana" by David D. Banta.  She does not appear with the family in the 1870 census.  No other information concerning Ellen Rubush has been located at this time. [15]
